Maruti Suzuki Ertiga launching this April
Well let's be honest, the production-ready Ertiga (Maruti's more domesticated moniker for the new MPV) is an outcry from the over ambitious R III Concept that first gave life to the company's idea of bringing out a premium and very attractive looking MPV for its customers in the near future. It's been two years since then, and at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi we gazed upon something more realistc and complete.
A compact MPV with seating for 7 people in a 3-row layout is what best summarises the personality of the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which you see in the image above. Ease of access to the central console and driver's equipment from the front seats, AC vents in the 2nd row and enhanced legroom in the 3rd row are some basic touches that have been well executed in the new Ertiga MPV based on the extended Swift platform.
One of the big USP's on this vehicle are its adjustable 2nd and 3rd row seats, which adhere to an array of configurations to accommodate different passenger and luggage combinations. What we also know is that the vehicle will be offered both in a choice of petrol (K14B) and diesel (D13A) engines for your convenience. Standard safety equipment on this vehicle has not been compromised at all.
With a design that is both compact and exceptionally comfortable, the new Ertiga backed by its trustworthy badge is undoubtedly a vehicle to look out for in the near future. But if your buying decision is massively dependent on how competitively it will be priced in the market, then watch this space for all the variant-wise pricing details, inside and outside imagery and specifications on the new Ertiga when it is offcially launched in the first or second week of April.
