Tata is soon to bring in a new avatar of Tata Safari christened as Tata Merlin. Speculations regarding Tata’s plan to introduce Tata Merlin began almost two years ago. Since then Tata Merlin was spotted on test runs at several spots. Some spied details, visuals also emerged, all fuelling the already heightened anticipation for the new Tata SUV. Tata Merlin price is one thing everyone is looking forward to as it going to remain around Rs 10 lakh. That said, Tata Merlin is expected to arrive by the November end or December, however the company is totally tight-lipped about the launch. It is certain that Tata will be selling both Tata Safari and Merlin as these have different features and pricing. Tata Merlin will meet head-on with the newly launched Mahindra & Mahindra's XUV 500 starting at an attractive price of Rs 10.88 lakh
It seems Tata and Jaguar Land Rover are synchronizing a lot as is evident from the design of the new Tata Merlin. The design of Tata Merlin SUV is greatly inspired by Land Rover. However, the overall shape of the new Tata SUV Merlin is expected to remain more like Tata Safari with lots of cosmetic changes inside out. In order to make it look different from Tata Safari, Tata Merlin will have new headlights, tail lights and all-new fog lamps. The rear and front bumpers are also new on Tata Merlin and has no resemblance with Safari bumpers. Not just the exteriors but Tata Merlin has all-new interiors as well. Furthermore, the new Tata SUV has improved handling and safety features than the Tata Safari. Steering mounted controls are expected to lure Tata Merlin buyers.
